True Self-Improvement, Overcoming Fear and the Special Nature of Adrenal Memories and Its Relationship to Understanding PTSD (Part Two)

True Self-Improvement, Overcoming Fear and the Special Nature of Adrenal Memories And Its Relationship To Understanding PTSD (Part Two)

Irrational fears limit us. Irrational fears block us from actualizing our greater full potential in life.

Let me offer another example of a self-limiting and irrational fear that is not so dissimilar from the ‘fear of flying people,’ but it is a much more common fear and a far more self-limiting one too. It is the fear of personal rejection.

Suppose John finds Judy very attractive and he would very much like to know her better. Perhaps he nurtures the ambition of developing a personal relationship with her.

But there is an irrational fear that might raise its ugly head here in John’s mind. It is that inner voice that says to him: ” Forget it! Judy is beautiful and every guy wants her. I don’t stand any chance of getting her attention on me. So why even bother? It would just mean frustration and pain for me to even start to try”

Do you see that the first problem John has here is an uncertain personal self-image? A simpler way of saying this is he lacks self-confidence. Yet how can we truly augment our self-confidence except though engaging new challenges and overcoming new fears?

John’s irrational fear may thus allow the potential ‘love of his life’ to slip through his fingers! Hell, Judy could even be a ‘secret admirer’ of his for all he really knows. But his fear can keep him from trying. His fear can keep him from ever going any further than just saying “Hi” to Judy and perhaps a bit nervously too when she passes by.

But lets look deeper; if he does not try then it is clear that he certainly can’t win Judy. But what further has he then lost? He has even lost the experience of pursuing Judy and then having things not work out as he hoped. That experience is often a very formative and necessary experience too. Looking at it longer term that experience could actually be beneficial for John too in preparing him for a later romantic success down his personal path of life.

He might even discover that though she is pretty on the outside, Judy is not really so pretty on the inside. There are many possibilities here but they would all expand John’s experience and thus they could augment his next chance for success!

However, as a consequence of ‘not trying out of fear’ John can remain inexperienced in the ‘romantic courting experience and methodology’. He has thus not begun to season himself in the arena of love, which can certainly sometimes be an intense emotional battlefield. Let’s keep in mind that it is the ‘inexperienced solider’ that most often first falls victim to the war too. This fear of rejection just does not serve John in any way at all. John’s fear of rejection severely limits him and narrows the very scope of his life.

What would help John here is a program that would allow him to overcome his fear and further still, to allow him to thus experience and know that he can overcome other fears as well. An ‘overcoming fear of rejection’ program could be achieved through an authentic simulation too. Though this is a bit more challenging the “fear of flying” program simulation I spoke of.

But a program that challenged John and prepared him to successfully overcome any real challenge and fear (in whatever way that true challenge and fear manifested itself in that program) would enhance John’s personal self-image.

And again it is from that ‘view of ourselves’ our personal self-image from which flows all our accomplishments, or conversely from which flows all our inner fears and failures.

So if we legitimately challenge John, and John rises to that challenge and puts his fear aside to do so, then we have truly improved his life. That more ‘self-confident John’ would at least approach Judy. And then of course he takes his chance like any other ‘man or bird or fish’. But the coin does get tossed and John is moving ahead in a more mentally healthy manner because he has transcended a portion of his fear of rejection..

I have directly seen that when one has a really self-limiting fear and then they just ‘take the plunge’ and go for it in an effort to overcome that fear as best they can, then they have truly grown and expanded themselves. And they have done so in every important way too: personally, spiritually and in every way that truly counts in regard to this somewhat limited life spans of ours.

We really have no time for the ‘self-imposed handicaps of irrational fears’ in living our life fully. Every irrational fear is a true shackle on our body and on our mind.

An effective self-improvement training program provides the special environment where a person is forced to face and overcome a fear. When they overcome that fear they make that essential personal self-discovery that they are more, that they can do more, than they previously imagined.

This is a well-established principle in military training programs and I have some knowledge of such programs too. But there the trainers are dealing with tens of thousands and so almost by necessity the basic method is to ‘break them down’ first, so you can ‘built them back up’ to what the military needs.

But in smaller groups and for different objectives some of the military conceptual principles do apply to true self-improvement training. After all the military does take ‘ordinary people’ and teaches them to do some truly extraordinary things.

Elite combat units are thus by their nature are trained in smaller numerical units. You are thinning out ‘the best of the best’ and then making them better still. The basic method is one of continuing challenges (and also education and increasing their skill set).

Please think about it, these programs are in part trying to train people to overcome the greatest fear of all, the fear of death. But the objective is for them to let go of the disabling part of that fear so as to enhance greatly their chances of survival in combat.

In my own self-defense/self-improvement training program for civilians a man once jokingly asked me before the weekend training began, ” Are you going to turn me into a commando too?” My reply was, “No, I will be happy when you leave here just thinking like one”

Yet, isn’t life itself a form of ‘combat’ for us sometimes though? And I mean that in a significant and important sense too. We are all, or at least I feel that we should be ‘spiritual warriors’ in life. Each new day can bring each of us new and sometimes unwanted ‘challenges’ Does not each day have the potential to bring us fresh disappointments, even true tragedy as well as perhaps moments of elation and also times of doubt and even depression? This is the spiritual battlefield of life.

When we engage those life challenges and engineer our path to overcome them and triumph over them, then what we have really done first is to overcome or at least ‘set aside’ our fear that we might be unable to overcome them. Very often our most significant and general self-aware fear is simply the fear of ‘failure’.

It is only when we overcome an irrational fear that we can then look back and truly see the role that irrational fear has previously played in limiting us from actualizing our innate potential and in achieving, or failing to achieve, any of the goals we might aspire too.

In the final installment of this article we are now better prepared to understand the nayure and origins of PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder).

I was publishing my first paper on PTSD in 1974. However, at that time nearly half the Doctorial Board told me PTSD did not exist, but was only a fiction created by Hollywood writers for dramatic film and TV purposes. Of course I knew they were mistaken, as I had some PTSD myself.

In understanding PTSD we are able to further realize just how much of the repeated behaviors we might engage in, the ones that do not serve us and are ‘mistakes’, are directed from our non self-aware minds. That is these behaviors have been conditioned into us without our self-aware knowledge.

This is no fantasy, this is no ‘abstract theory’ either. In the next installment I will give you a very concrete example of this process. It is an example of the non self- aware mind controlling your behavior that you almost certainly have personally experienced yourself.

It is only when we understand this process itself that we have the means to intervene and correct these repeated ‘behavioral mistakes”, these can be the repeated mistakes that often stand between us and achieving our most important life’s goals.

Your Life is a Reflection of the Choices You Make

Did you ever think about the important roll bad decisions play in how to succeed in life and how to succeed in business?

I’m being deadly serious about this because whether you realize it or not, your decisions, especially the bad ones, are so important to your success.

Although poor decisions play a critical role in anybody’s life, very few people realize it or even think about it. Most people look to sweep their lousy decisions under the rug or otherwise pretend that they never even happened. What a huge mistake this is.

Not recognizing a bad decision is to miss out on a huge opportunity for self improvement. Every decision – whether it turns out to be good or bad – provides an outcome. Good outcomes result in good, positive feelings and there is certainly nothing wrong with that. Less than favorable outcomes on the other hand provide us with something far more important.

Making hundreds of decisions throughout the day is a part of life. Most are small, seemingly insignificant decisions like what to have for lunch while others hold a great deal more importance. You’ve got to understand, everybody is the sum total of the decisions they make. The small decisions and the big ones; we are a reflection of our choices.

Let’s look specifically at only the bad decisions we make. The truth of life is that learning how to succeed in business or how to succeed in life in general would be impossible without the benefit of bad decisions. Making bad decisions provides us with experience and experience eventually leads us to success.

You should fully expect to make an occasional bad decision but I will even go as far as to say that you should embrace all the bad decisions you will certainly make.

So when you do make those inevitable bad decisions, be easy on yourself. Understand that there was a good reason why you make the decisions you make so accept whatever the outcome might be. Most importantly you’ve got to learn your lessons. There is nothing wrong with making a bad decision and learning from it. On the other hand there is everything wrong with making a bad decision without taking a good lesson from the experience.

Do not let your bad decisions go to waste.

As an example, look at the child who touches a hot stove. Obviously touching a hot stove is clearly a bad decision. However at the same time a crucial lesson was learned. That child learned her lesson and she won’t be touching anymore hot stoves any time soon.

Of course, one should always look to make good decisions and I think that goes without saying. Nobody ever wakes up in the morning eager to make poor decisions. But, as fallible human beings, it is absolutely impossible to avoid them.

Also, on a lighter note, bad decisions make for good stories, agreed? I can absolutely guarantee you that something which appears to be a bad decision with a seemingly dire outcome today will not seem so bad tomorrow.

Education is your best weapon against minimizing bad decisions. And a good self improvement book can be your best educational tool. Subliminals – Music For Motivation

One of the things that you need to realise about the subliminal industry is that it hinges plenty on the aspects of external stimulation, and this can come in the form of something that is either visual or auditory, and this is where this article is headed really. What we are doing in fact is that we are actually looking into the power of music and how you can capitalise on it when you are trying to gain some sort of self improvement in your life.

When you think about the power of subliminal, you sometimes thing that there is no way that you can achieve the results when you have reached a level of maturity, and this is because of the one reason, and one reason only, is that the logic processes in the brain and the critical thinking structure has all been placed as defence mechanisms to stop your brain from learning from pure association, and this is what we need to look into. In fact, one can say that this entirety is the basis of subliminal persuasion and the back bone of how this technology works in the first place.

To understand this more, we need to know how the brain actually works and what you need to do to bypass some of the major defences that it has around. For one, you need to know that the brain actually works in the process of association, and this is what is really driving the whole concept of the subconscious mind. When you were born, you really did not have something that can allow you to rationalise the world and break it down, so the only way the brain was going to induce some sort of early learning was that if it associates the images and the sounds that you get and places them within certain logic compartments all over the mind.

And this is what we actually bring with us as we leave those times and become an adult. The problem here is that the critical mind will more often than not take away some of these associations, but the more powerful ones stay deep within your subconscious mind, and one example that you can look at is phobias and fears, which sometimes start at a young age and go all the way till the day the person dies.

So, when this happens, if you want to get into the subconscious mind, and actually make the changes that you want to, what you need to do is to actually trick your critical mind into believing that there is nothing there, which means that the messages must be done in a super frequency method, beyond normal faculties to pick up, but well within the subconscious mind to listen and understand. This is where music comes into the picture because it is the perfect medium which allows you to actually distract your mind and insert the subliminals that you need to make some sort of headway into your own mental therapy.

Feel the Power of Subliminal Suggestion

Looking at the world of mental development, there is this technology called subliminal suggestion that has been around for a long time, and this is something that you need to pay attention to. One of the things that has been around for a while, is the human need for mental improvement, because of the fact that the need for cerebral evolution has been inbred within the life of the human race. So, when we are talking about the many technologies that are available for you to actually do this, you should look at the power of subliminal technology as one of the easiest applications that you can use to tweak your brain power and gain an edge in your life.

The concept of the technology has been centered around the fact that the brain and the body is being controlled by the subconscious mind, and this has been a fact for a long time. When we are talking about behaviour, phobias, character and all the negatives/positives in your life, it has all been determined by the subconscious mind, and what you need to do is that previously, there was no way that you or anyone could actually come into the brain and take away these elements and add new ones.

One of the things that the principles of the subliminal suggestion is that it uses high potential frequencies that your normal faculties cannot pick up to actually subvert the natural defences of the brain and penetrate into the subconscious mind. It was actually around the 70′s when advertisers were using this technology to actually make people buy or consider buying their products. They used flashing images and text on movie screens, to fast for the naked eye to perceive, to make people hungry and connect that feeling with their products, and the experiment was quite a success, with many people reporting that they actually wanted to buy a burger or drink one of the products that were flashed on the screen.

This was in fact the power of subliminal suggestion, and the personal development industry has taken this application and ran with it. What they did was realise that the brain can be trained and coached into positive states with the use of subliminal suggestion; using the same principles as what the advertisers were doing not so long ago. What they did was that they hid their messages and positive affirmations in mediums like music and visuals for the same effect.

Of course what was going to happen was that music was always going to be much more popular, and when this happened, manufacturers were creating subliminally strong CD’s for consumer and personal use. You too can enjoy the benefits of such things like subliminal suggestion, and all you need to do is to actually go online and find some of the premium products that will help you to bring in the kind of self improvement that you need in your life. Remember, self improvement and the power of subliminal suggestion is just a click away.

What You Know Today

What you know today is not what you will know five years from now. That’s a given. What isn’t a given is what you will know, how much you will know and the quality of what you will know. Yet all three – what, how much and the quality – is up to you.

It’s interesting that people plan their work (goals, objectives, quarterly reviews), and they plan their children’s work (school, basketball practice, scout meeting), but do people pay attention to planning what they will learn beyond what is routine? How they will grow?

Borrowing from my experiences and what I’ve learned from others, I’ve come up with seven steps that will have an impact on what I will know five years from now. You can borrow them if you’d like. Remember, being aware is the first step, what you do next is up to you.

In looking back on my short and wonderful life, I wish I would have walked the Appalachian Trail when I lived out east. I wish I would have spent more time in Yellowstone when attended school out west. I also wish I would have taken the time to learn more about the cities in which I trained when I was traveling extensively across the US and Canada. Sure, I picked up a lot of great information – history, geography and weather patterns (my piercing headache in Calgary was blamed on the chinook that passed through the day I arrived). I learned a lot, but if I had planned ahead, I could have learned and experienced so much more.

I know this because I trained for awhile with a guy from Pittsburgh who always seemed to make the most of a day. For example, after ending our training day in a suburb of San Francisco, he suggested we figure out how to get into San Francisco to have dinner on the bay. What sounded simple enough ended up being an excursion filled with trains, taxis and walking. I was exhausted by the time we got back to the hotel at 2:00 a.m., yet I experienced and learned so much from walking the harbor, soaking in the atmosphere, the people and the weather. This guy knew how to experience and learn far more than what a work day held for him.

It’s never too late to consider the impact I have on what I will know later, and the same is true for you. In taking inventory of my life, I first gave myself kudos for what I’ve done, what I’ve learned. Then I did some thinking about what direction I’d like my learning to take. If you chose to do the same, here are some steps to consider:

1.Take an inventory of your life. Enjoy the process. Forgive yourself. Congratulate yourself.

2.Make a list of all the things you’ve been meaning to do. A bike ride across the state is a learning experience, so is studying French.

3.Consider the list for a week.

4.Circle the top three or top five things.

5.Chose one item from your list. This is important; just choose one! And make sure it is do-able – after all, if you live in the northern part of the country, it’s just plain torture to ride a bike across the state during January or February).

6.Focus on it. If it requires planning, enjoy the process.

7.Begin. Notice I’m not saying “do it”; I’m saying “begin”. Just begin. Pick up the book and read a page. Go outside and walk around the block. Go on line and look up the course offerings for Learning to Speak French. Check out the websites for MBA programs. Just begin. . .

I have done this. It works. Here is an easy example of what I’ve done to be more involved in what I will know in five years.

I used to read quite a lot, but had gotten out of the habit, so after some consideration I circled READ as my first choice to influence what I will know in five years. Then I went to the Library. I walked around and around the stacks – I didn’t know where to start. I ended up choosing two books – a novel for fun and a book on leadership. I brought the books home and decided, since I’m a morning person, to read the leadership book in the morning and the novel at night. Mornings were no problem – I fell into my old habit immediately and now look forward to starting my day by reading for a half hour. Evenings were more of a problem. I actually circled the book – I knew it would be good, I knew I would enjoy it, but I just couldn’t pick it up! Finally, on the third evening I picked it up, sat down and read two pages. I didn’t like it and I put it down. Next evening I did the same thing. I made myself read long enough to allow the book to pull me in. That’s it! I’m back. I’m reading again. So, the process works. Try it.

I wonder what I’ll do next. . .

Panic Be Gone – End Anxiety and Panic Attacks

Panic/Anxiety disorder is a serious mental health condition that affects an estimated 1% of the U.S. population. The fact that its prevalence has remained steady over time, points towards a strong genetic causative link for this disease. The reason it is not brought to our awareness more often is the fact that sufferers often develop an avoidant behavioral pattern that severely restricts their social presence.

There are several medical treatment modalities for this disorder, some employing pharamacologic agents (e.g. selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors or SSRI’s) and others using psychotherapy, although the most effective approach is oftentimes a combination of both.

However, this disorder can also be approached alternatively; there is a multitude of holistic approaches for counteracting the effects of the spectrum of symptoms accompanying this disorder. You may be surprised to know that acupuncture has been tried successfully in many instances. There are also herbal remedies which have been shown to reduce the severity of symptoms of anxiety disorder. These herbs can be obtained without prescription and for a very low price from popular sites such as Amazon. Such herbal treatments for anxiety are: passion flower, valerian and kava.

Other techniques focus on the behavioral modification of the sufferer, using various feedback and hypnosis techniques, which are, as we know, very powerful. Before you scoff at hypnosis-based techniques, just think that hypnosis alone is utilized in major medical centers instead of anesthesia!

Recently, I happened to come across one such biofeedback/self hypnosis-based technique that appears to be very promising and seems to be gaining increasing popularity among the general population. You might like to learn more about this, as well as other life-enhancing topics, by going to my website below:

Getting Inspired!

Often the question is asked of me, “Where does your inspiration come from?”  This question suggests that our own inspiration is held within some external place, and if we were able to just finally reach there, then maybe the miraculous floodgates of inspired action would then deluge our lives with all the things that we desire. The question also suggests that there might be some external force, such as a muse, that then could, upon our meeting that muse, inspire us to action in our chosen field of endeavor, creating masterpiece after masterpiece of success. While these two suggested directions of thought all outline perfectly what motivation is, they do not in any way touch upon what inspiration truly is. Motivation comes from an external source, a mentor, a coach, a loved one, a muse, while inspiration can only come from us when we are being our true selves. Our true selves are us, when we are in the profound and deep experience of our own pre-existing self-worthiness, which then causes us to live lives of inspired action.

The key meaning behind what inspiration really is, is in the definition of the word itself. Two components in particular are of interest if we are to fully practice inspiration: “The drawing in of air, or inhalation.” And, “Divine guidance or spark.” Taken this way, inspiration literally means to “To breathe in the Divine.” When we breathe in the Divine, we then literally, “breathe out” inspired action. What’s the Divine? We are! We are no less part of the Divine, literally, than anything else in this entire Universe, and beyond. To the ancients, this breath was defined as the Divine breath of life, or Prana. The ancients knew that without this Divine breath, we would die. A human life uninspired then, is like walking around without air. Not particularly comfortable, and not filled with much aliveness. And not the kind of life most of us had envisioned ourselves living! Yet this is the life we live, when we are uninspired. If you look into the faces of those around you, it would be an unavoidable conclusion to come up with the truth, that most people, most of the time, are living uninspired lives. When in truth, not one of them have to!

Why don’t they have to? Because with just one small shift in their thinking, our thinking, we all can continually, more and more and more, begin to breathe in the Divine. And just where is this Divine to be breathed in? It’s not external to us, it’s not coming in a few years, and it’s not sourced from outside of ourselves in any way whatsoever. And until you get here, as fully as in any one now moment that you can get here, and with all you have, as your true-self, right here and right now, then your mother, your father, your rich uncle, icon, rock star, religious figure, dogma, law, rules, powers that be, or new government program, is not coming to save you, ever. Until you get here, inspired by your own recognition of your self-worthy, true-self, then you will remain invisible to others, as well as to yourself. And how can an other outside source, in any way support you, if you are invisible to not only yourself, but to them to? Truth is, they can’t. They cannot support what they cannot see. So many walk around feeling their own “as if they’re invisible” non-existence, I know, I coach them all the time. And it’s not that they’re necessarily walking around in some existential funk, depressed, or even close to it, but they are filled with a longing that something “is missing” in their lives, and they can’t quite put their finger on it. That there’s something that they just have to do to get noticed, to get recognition. Something that if they could just “find it” would then make that annoying longing for something else, go away. Some of them have large houses, good businesses, and a few cars in the driveway, by the way. We’re talking successful people here, at least, in the eyes of society they live within. Yet despite their great material wealth, or great amount of acknowledgement, they are still don’t necessarily feel inspired. And there’s nothing out of place with material wealth or acknowledgement either, so don’t read that into these words.

How then, can anyone get inspired? Believe it or not, like just a few other things in life, inspiration takes work, commitment, discipline, and habitual behavior of action, thought, and belief, over time. We can be instantaneously inspired, but only after traveling a long road of preparation. For a long time I believed a belief about inspiration, that was continually lived out through action, which means my actions indicated my beliefs about inspiration, regardless of what I either thought or said about my beliefs regarding inspiration. This is when the two sets of beliefs, the one indicated by my actions, and the one indicated by my words, didn’t match. I always said that outside influences “didn’t matter” to me, that awards, gifts, more money, status, words of encouragement, or recognition at the hands of others, were not what inspired me, while at the same time pursuing them thinking that eventually, if I got enough of them, I would then feel what it was like to be truly inspired. Truth was, they weren’t what inspired me, but I didn’t know that. I was mistaking motivation from external sources as inspiration from inside of me. Yet, despite my words insisting that I knew what I was really doing, I still felt that hungry need to go out and seek more and more awards and recognition all the time. I called it “acknowledgement” which took a little of the non-spiritual sting out of my searching to satisfy my hunger for that which would then make me “feel okay” about myself. College degrees, seven black belts, awards from two presidents, writing nominations for poetry prizes, a thousand letters and words of thanks, becoming a community leader in my church, and winning the lottery, all served as pieces in this structure of acknowledgement that my actions believed would finally satisfy my hunger to feel my own self-worthiness, and so in turn, become inspired. In truth, not one of these many, many, things, did anything of the sort. Not one of them inspired me, because not one of those awards came from inside of me.

It took giving up my pursuit of happiness, to finally be inspired. When the huge hunger for something, anything, that was going to make the longing for some nebulous prize that would finally make me “feel better” enough, was ignored for a long enough time, and in the stillness of day after day of mediation and energy practice, I finally realized that my own experience of self-worthiness, and then the flow of my inspiration, wasn’t going to come from any outside source. This pursuit of happiness while being unhappy and unfulfilled, wasn’t something my stated beliefs indicated, but my actions certainly did, as it is the case with most of the thousands upon thousands of people I have worked with in seminars. My stated beliefs were of the “cool” New Agey norm, because I “knew” all the answers. I knew there wasn’t really something “out there” to get to that would finally make me happy, yet we all know that. At least, I knew this truth with my words, but until I was in total alignment in thought, beliefs, and action, I really knew nothing at all. Until I was living out my own internal inspiration, I wasn’t really living out inspiration, I was living out more of the same pursuit of what I wasn’t being, in order to get it, rather than to be it, to be inspired, to be happy, to be in the experience of my own self-worthiness. They’re all connected, they’re all internal experiences, and the gaining of one, gains you all the others simultaneously. What a great plan for our success!

In the interest of giving to you the means to reach this experience of your own deep and profound, pre-existing experience of self-worthiness, in order to answer the question of “How?” “How?,” can I do this?, the most efficient process I have ever done for the gaining of our deep and profound experience of self-worthiness on a permanent basis, is called The Loving Process© found at the completion of my second book. Getting into that experience of my own, pre-existing, self-worthiness, was exactly when true inspiration came to me, or rather, out from me, out from the only place we can ever “get it from” in the first place! The best part of my journey of giving up everything in order to get more than everything back, is that I discovered that the place that inspiration comes from, exists inside of every single one of us, bar none. All any of us have to do, is to stop looking for it, and instead, be it. The good news, is that this means there is nothing extra to do, nowhere else to seek it, and no one else to depend upon for it. It’s ours, all of ours, and right now! What? No extra work? No. What? No fulfillment of the demands of an other so that an award or a piece of recognition be given? No, again. With such a perfect plan for fulfillment, how easy is that? And the biggest irony of all is that when we are deeply within our experience of self-worthiness, all those things that we were seeking come to us so easily it makes the head spin. All the money, recognition, inspiration, and power to impact our lives is right there, the moment our internal permission slip to have it all is written with the ink of our experience of self-worthiness! How inspiring is that!

All we have to do to get truly inspired, is to breathe inward into our own bodies, and find The All That Is that exists there, already, waiting for every single one of us. When we do The Loving Process© for a long enough time, then our literal outward breath of inspired action then becomes that which lights up our very world. Now that’s inspiring!

How to Make a New Years Resolution and The Best Way to Follow Through

The very first thing that anyone needs to know to make and understand in a New Year’s Resolution is that they must pick something that is attainable for them. Do not try and make a resolution that you know you won’t be able to achieve. This only makes you sad and depressed when you are unable to follow through with your Resolution.

Setting a goal is more than just making a promise to yourself that you can achieve. The right tools are needed to make the right resolution for you.

Make only one Resolution at a time and focusing on it is the first step in making a New Year’s Resolution. Trying to make more than one resolution is a great way of making sure than none of your resolutions will be successful. Once you have chosen your particular Resolution write it down. This makes it real and will help you to be accountable. Also place it in a place that is visible to you everyday, like putting it on the refrigerator door. This will help to remind you everyday of your New Year’s Resolution.

Try to make your New Year’s Resolution reachable by breaking it down into smaller attainable goals. Like if loosing 50 pounds of weight is your goal, break it down into 10 pound increments and you may have more success.

Making yourself accountable to another person will help you in keeping with your Resolution. Having to justify yourself to someone other than yourself will help you keep on the straight and narrow. Or if you are having trouble keeping to your resolution this person will help to encourage you and keep you on your chosen path.

Commit yourself to your New Year’s Resolution. If you are even a little bit unsure of your ability to attain this goal, you are sure to fail. Positive thinking is the greatest way to achieve whatever goal you are trying to achieve. If you think negative thoughts you are sure to undermine yourself and you won’t be able to achieve your goal.

Persistence is what everyone needs to achieve their particular goal. You need to want this goal more than anything else.

One more tool needed by everyone is Patience. New Year’s Resolution don’t always happen quickly. Most resolutions take time. By taking time the resolution sometimes gets lost in our daily activity.

One of the most common New Year’s resolution is loosing those extra pounds that have accumulated over the years. If this is your New Year’s Resolution, there is a way for you to achieve the goal you have set for yourself

How to Develop Your Self-Respect and Gain Confidence

Self-Respect is a simple word. It’s worthy and appreciate that we practice upon people, places, and situations. We have respect as a professional person breaks in a typical performance whether it’s successful sports, acting as, or just practicing the proper matter.

Simply the most significant place we require to enforce thinks of are inside ourselves. We must maintain our self-respect in order to place value on ourselves as a good person in the universe.
Self-respect touches all single part of our lives making an uncomfortable place whenever they are low and a spirited cheerful place once it’s stable. Promoting respect in a systematic style beats out an authorizing level for we may really be the finest key for happiness in life.

It’s all-important that once you aim for high self-respect, it’s not at the point of believing you’re “better” or more high-ranking” to some other, but rather it’s at a level wherever you’re fine with you, other people and the world.

That’s too the difference of opinion between haughtiness and adoring yourself. There’s nothing incorrect on recognizing how great you’re. As a matter of fact it’s a significant factor of self respect self love. Even so, once we consider we’re best than others, or more higher-ranking, that’s just plain arrogance and are better avoided at any cost.

Most people feel and think about themselves fluctuate fairly supported their day to day experiences. The grade you get on an exam, how your friends care for your, ups and downs in a loving relationship all can accept an irregular affect about your well being. This is since people break up an issue and what it thinks about them.

So whenever you’re in the selling profession you could consider you are an excellent sales person once you deal eight out of ten products, but not as you sell two out of ten. You’re the same person whether you’re selling two products or eight products. It’s important to sort out your behavior and what it “means” about you. Rather than celebrating the fact that you made eight sales and being misery when you only made two sales, observe the truth that you’re absorbed in the art of selling. Enjoy the activities you accept, instead of the end result. That way whether you sell two or eight are unsuitable since you’ll be believing however great you’re for just following away there selling something.

Your personal self-respect, still, are something more important than the average “ups and downs” connected with situational changes. Since people are beneficial basic self-respect, normal “ups and downs” might guide to irregular variations in however they experience about themselves, just only to a limited extent. In contrast, as people with poor basic self-respect, these “ups and downs” might cause totally the difference in the world.

Healthy self-respect is supported our power to assess ourselves precisely recognize ourselves and however be able to admit and to appreciate ourselves flatly. These intends being able to honestly recognize our effectiveness’s and limits which is part of being human and simultaneously accepting ourselves as desirable and worthy without terms or reservations.

Raising yourself respect to levels that will raise your life and the way you aspect life is a journey worth beginning. It can make a fantastic difference in your quality of life. Acquiring methods to raise self-respect may comprise instructed and put into practice in just a few days. However, it will accept practice to continue your self-worth at the forefront.

No one attends the gym for a couple of days after 10 years or more of inactivity and expects to be completely fit within weeks. No one would go to the gym for a few weeks and so determine they’ve gone long enough and don’t need to go any longer. No one would go to the gym later a long time of inactiveness, get fit, and so never come back again. They’ll need to come back at least 3 or 4 times a week to maintain their fitness levels.

Learn Something New Every Day

I received in an email today, the following information. According to a survey by Merriam-Webster The TOP TEN FAVORITE WORDS today are:

1. defenestration

2. serendipity

3. onomatopoeia

4. discombobulate

5. plethora

6. callipygian

7. juxtapose

8. persnickety

9. kerfuffle

10. flibbertigibbet

I don’t know about you, but I only recognized 6 out of the 10, and most of those I hardly ever use in my writing or speaking. When I read about these particular words being the top 10 favorites, I couldn’t help but wondering – with whom?

Anyway, reading about these words brought to mind a wonderful story told by the late Dr. Leo Buscaglia. He said that when he was a young boy, every day at supper time, he and his very large Italian family would sit around the dinner table, and each person would have to relate what new word or thing they learned that day. What a wonderful idea! Imagine how much he must have learned over the years, just by being present in that room, every evening. I

It is so easy to become stagnant in our life and in our thinking. Each day is a new day with many new treasures awaiting, and at the close of the day, in addition to giving thanks for all the good things that came our way, it would be nice to ask ourselves – “What new word or thing did I encounter this day?” Since I am writing this at the end of Monday, in preparation for tomorrow morning, I will share with you what I learned.

Today, I learned that….It is the male, not the female sea horse, who becomes pregnant. Male sea horses have a special pouch on their stomach that provides a place for incubation of the female’s eggs. The female transfers the eggs to this pouch, where they then attach themselves, are fertilized, and grow until ready to hatch. During the entire pregnancy, the male and female sea horse will dance in the water together, every day, just after the sun has risen. In other words, the male sea horse carries the kid to term and gives birth to it. What a great idea!!! No wonder the female wants to dance!

I did not know this before, and it really is quite remarkable! I am sure that armed with this new found information, I would be considered a delightfully charming and amusing guest at the next cocktail or tea party.

Several years ago, I had a friend just like that. He only completed grade 7, but he was the most fascinating and delightful person I had ever met. You could talk to him about any subject and he would astound you with his wealth of knowledge and fascinating information. I once went to a party where he and a number of professional engineers and MBA’s had gathered, and in a matter of minutes, he put everyone in that room to shame. Everyone wanted to be around him. He made you feel so alive. He was interested in LIFE, he was in love with LIFE, and he never missed a single opportunity to learn and grow and delight himself and others in the process.

So, my dear friends, what wonderful new word or stimulating tidbit of information did you learn, or will YOU learn today?
