5 Traits of Highly Successful People

How do you know that you have succeeded? Well there are many traits of highly successful people you can compare yourself to and this article deals with some of them. Perhaps it is the binary code that you need to set yourself up against, as most of the prominent people in the world who are looking down on the rest of us share these traits. There are many, and some of them vary from person to person – and so to the convenience of the readers, I have distilled 5 traits of highly successful people to read about.

One has to be confidence and it is almost carbon copied in all the successful people that I have met. Not to be mistaken for arrogance, a highly successful person is able to exude an aura that will almost overpower you at the first meeting. A belief in one self and knowing that almost nothing in the world can deter them from reaching the goal that they want to is the sort of thing the greats are made of.

They also know what they want and almost never deviate. Their radar is fixed on a small blip that they are driving towards and they will not let anything in the way stop them from reaching this goal. Such focus, such tenacity are the key ingredients for anyone to start seeing massive success. They don’t wander and they don’t languish. They are in constant movement and highly purposeful.

They are also have an extreme amount of concentration and will never let a single piece of information be left out. Most of us in the world can barely sit through a 15 minute classroom without fidgeting but these people are the rocks of concentration that stand out from the rest of us. The waves of restlessness will sweep us away but for them, they are the rocks that stand firm.

That and a combination of hard work, will lead anyone to succeed. Hard work I think is 50% of the battle won and I you are willing to entrench yourself in whatever you do, then you will have a great chance of reaching the stars. They say that if there is a road to the sun, not many will be able to traverse it. You can be one of these people and hold the light in your hands. Led Zeppelin once said that there was a stairway to heaven – it’s time you make your own.

There was once a brand of t-shirt that had the adage ‘No Fear’ written boldly on it. And I think that this is the attitude that a lot of us should follow today. People who succeed in life have absolutely no fear of it and the only thing to fear – not to overly quote someone else – is fear itself. Don’t be afraid to take opportunities and seize risks to light up the pathway to success. A long time ago a man tied a key to a kite and challenged lightning itself to prove him right.

Go Beyond a Positive Attitude to Get What You REALLY Want

You’ve heard it all before. That having a positive attitude is the key to success. And I will agree that it is an important attribute to possess. However, it is not the 100% fail proof method that some people make it out to be.

I am sure that you know at least one person that has a very positive attitude and still they have a hard time getting what they really want. And I am also sure that you can find at least one person that has a lot of what they want but also has a very negative attitude at times.

So, how do you really get what it is that you want?

You have to combine positive thinking with strategies and action that will produce the results that you desire. You could be totally positive about your ability to increase your financial situation, but if you NEVER learn the strategy that will attract wealth, it ain’t going to happen!

Strategy is just as important as your attitude. It’s half the equation. And really when you think about it, it might actually be more. Just like I said before, there are people that are pretty negative about things and yet they still know how to produce the strategy that yields the results that they want.

I’m not saying a positive attitude is not important. IT IS!

But, it is not the entire equation. You also have to take positive action towards your dreams and your goals. Be positive, but take action as well!

The Healing Mind: Changing Our Brain by Changing Our Mind

Modern science has proved that mind can change the brain at the DNA level. Scientific findings that our world is more than just things (like atoms) highlight the importance of the spiritual.

Meditation

There are hundreds of methods for meditation. What happens once you achieve a state of meditation? Several physiological changes occur: decreased cortisol and adrenaline levels, reduced stress, and improved immune function. Many people believe that meditative states can heal and access the spiritual.

Scientists demand evidence, however. Without evidence, meditation is considered to be yet another mumbo-jumbo paranormal phenomenon. Thus, Andrew Newberg, a medical doctor, director of clinical medicine, and assistant professor of radiology, used state-of-the-art methods of examining brain activities by charting the blood flow to specific brain areas. By comparing the scans taken before and during meditation, Newberg and his collaborators were able to show reproducible changes that occur in the brain when one meditates. The scans taken with those in a state of meditation were very different from those in a “normal” state of mind.

Newberg’s study subjects included Tibetan meditators and Franciscan nuns at prayer. There was commonality of brain states with these two groups and the activity of people engaged in spiritual practices. This is graphic evidence that meditation and prayer enables the mind to access the spiritual realm.

Changing your brain by changing your mind

The dogma held by most scientists until the 1990′s was that the brain cannot be significantly changed after adolescence. Jeffrey Schwartz, a neuroscientist at UCLA, employed modern scientific instruments to test that dogma. Schwartz, in his decades of work with obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), found that patients following his therapy produced changes in their neural pathways. This work is highly significant. It proves that the mind can cause healing.

Obsessive-compulsive disorder often yields devastating consequences. The unwanted urges to incessantly wash one’s hands or to constantly worry if a door was left unlocked can prevent individuals from holding a job or retaining relationships. Schwartz had his patients focus their attention in a meditative state on alternative thoughts, such as going out to the garden, rather than the obsessive impulse. This strengthened the neural connections that result in the thought of going to the garden and weakened the OCD urge connections. Brain scans showed that as the patients improved, their brain wiring changed-proving that mind changes brain.

Prayer

As with meditation, there are hundreds of ways to pray. In addition to the evidence of brain changes reported by Newberg’s study of Franciscan nuns at prayer, numerous studies show the healing power of prayer. Reports of over 130 controlled laboratory studies indicating that prayer or prayer-like states result in positive health changes in humans and other living organisms.

The Power of Love

One essential component in all healing is love and compassion. The results of a Gallup poll indicate that over 90 percent of patients long for care and love from their doctors.

Numerous studies have shown how love produces electrochemical action in the brain, which, in turn, produces chemicals that strengthen the immune system. Dean Ornish, a cardiologist, has reported clinical studies involving patients suffering from arteriosclerosis and angina. These studies indicate that love, or the absence of love, directly impacts the seriousness of the disease as well as the odds for survival.

Medicine over several centuries at different times by different cultures moved from shunning the patient to nurturing-reminding us that despite modern wonders of medicine, the greatest medical advancement was moving from fear to love.

The importance of love, mind, and spirit in our daily lives can’t be overemphasized. Healing the rift between science and spiritualityis happening.

Leo Kim, Ph.D. was a research associate at MIT, scientist, and executive in the biotechnology industry. He studied with healers such as Barbara Brennan, Bernie Siegel, and Deepak Chopra, and is a certified clinical hypnotherapist. How Self Healing Techniques Can Be Achieved Through Brainwave Entrainment

The power of healing has been something that has been studied for hundreds of years and the brain has been closely connected to its voracious study. The body has at its disposal the tools necessary to heal itself, but presently we are stuck at the ‘default level’ of healing. Natural healing is one of the most powerful, drug free forms of healing that has been around and science has been looking into ways to improve and accelerate the power of self healing by tapping into the power of the brain – the central authority, the progenitor of all the functions of the body.

Of late, science has discovered that accelerated healing is associated with specific brainwave electromagnetic frequencies and has been discovering ways to induce these very frequencies to augment the healing process. Called the Alpha and Delta frequencies, these states have been associated to be produced when we are asleep or the state just after and before sleep. With the use of brainwave entrainment technology, these specific frequencies can be induced within the corticals of both hemispheres of the brain to promote healing – showing us exactly how self healing techniques can be achieved through brainwave entrainment.

The medical community has been using this technology for a long time and only recently has it been packaged into a form that is suitable for the general consumer market. Large cumbersome machinery has now been transformed into something as simple as the normal, everyday CD. Not only did the medical community tap into the healing frequencies of the brain, but they also looked into the power of positive thinking in the entire healing process.

A happier person heals faster, that is the observable fact that the medical community is researching and together with self healing; it will lead to a phenomenon that will change the face of self healing for good.

Think about, normally when someone is in the hospital and healing, their mood is generally down – they are away from the family, away from their loved ones and stuck in an environment that is associated with death, disease and sickness. Hospitals always try to introduce amenities to cheer patients up, with televisions, game consoles, better service and they pick and choose staff. This is all towards making their hospital experience all the more better, to encourage positive thinking and improve healing.

Imagine having this power in the palm of your hands. It is not just about disease, healing can come in the form of spiritual healing and emotional healing – after effects of disasters or tragedies. Brainwave entrainment technology can help in all respects, creating bliss and delight, a positive outlook and even trigger frequencies that will promote healing that is also physical. The power of self healing is no longer limited – now freely available all over the world, especially in cyberspace. Take control of your life and lift yourself out of depression; you will not regret it at all. This is how self healing techniques can be achieved through brainwave entrainment.

How Changing Brain Wave Patterns Can Be Good For You

The message in this article title is a bit daunting. It is a strong statement that typifies the conjecture of someone who is literally insane. The brain should be left as it is and in our dull, mortal hands, there should not be an opportunity where we should be changing anything. It is like opening the hood of a V8 Ferrari with no knowledge of cars. We end up doing worse things to the sleek machine that has been so dependent for the past decades and soon it will be chugging along the expressway – with fire spouting from under the hood.

But don’t be shocked, the power to improve your life is the power to change how the brain works. We are only using a percentage of the potential of the mind in everything that we do and it is time to give ourselves the unfair advantage that we have always wanted in life. Learn better, think faster and be all that you can be – just by changing brainwave patterns. It can be extremely good for you in that it can achieve amazing potential.

The science behind it is quite complex, but in a nutshell, brainwave entrainment is invoking a cortical response from the brain in the form of frequencies. Science and medicine has discovered that the brain morphs into a super entity in differing frequency states, the neurons and chemical reactions react like a wave against a rock, changing the shape for a brief moment so that it is in a form that is able to learn more, absorb more, focus better, think more creatively or sink into a deep, relaxed state. The potential power of this technology is immense and its applications are extreme. One of the states is called the ‘reprogramming’ state, in which the brain’s normal defences are placed in negation for a moment and the subconscious is exposed. This allows for the end user, with the use of regression techniques like positive message insertion, to kick certain bad habits.

Smoking, over eating, addiction to drugs and even afflictions like OCD and ADD/ADHD are able to be treated and turned around. The most addictive drug of all is subconscious persuasion and we are like puppets on a string when it comes to that part of the mind. Resistance is overly difficult and sometimes futile because we are trained into action by the subconscious mind.

The only way that we can break our bad habits is by reprogramming the subconscious and removing the addiction directly from the brain. The brain then can tell the rest of the body that you don’t need to smoke or you don’t need to eat again. The power of positive thinking can also be used in the medical field as a placebo to the healing process. Science has discovered that a happier more euphoric person will heal better, the chemical reactions and release of certain endorphins aid in improving the body’s immune system. With so many applications for this technology, I’m you sure can see how changing brain wave patterns can be good for you.

Responsibility Gears Us Towards Self Reliance

The most important thing in the life of a human being is to make a difference. Our inspirations determine and map our destiny in life. In spite of the challenges we face in life we must always seek to make the right choices. We cannot expect things to always go exactly as we intend; sometimes we are bound to encounter hitches or setbacks along the way.

Challenges should never be a hindrance to achieving success. Someone once said, “There is no problem without a solution”. Whoever said this, must have felt the urge to convince others to courageously face obstacles rather than flee from them. Under all circumstances, be patient and avoid complaining since complaining does not yield any fruits.

Instead of constantly lamenting, engage your mind in creativity so as to come up with answers that will resolve life’s issues. The ability to rid your mind of any negativity will provide the proper mental preparedness needed when tackling challenges. Note that challenges are there to trigger our minds to be innovative.

Responsibility begins in the mind. You and you alone are solely responsible for your actions as well as your success. Responsibility cannot be enforced but it comes out of self-will, it is as a result of making of right decisions. Someone once said, “Think twice before leaping.” This means that you should think carefully before taking any action. Also remember that there are consequences in whatever you choose to do.

Self reliance is not a gift that you are born with but rather it is something that you need to cultivate diligently from childhood. Parents therefore need to instill this virtue in their children.

Stephen shares his experience in self development tips that will definitely add value to your life. (Website:) Self Development Tips

Warning! Comfort Zones- Dangerous to Self-Growth

Are you moving closer to your dreams daily because of the action steps you take to make them a reality?

Have you left your areas of comfort far in the distance because you have a clear vision of your dream and what you need to do to accomplish it? Or do you cling to those things that comfort like one clings to an old hat or a pair of worn comfortable shoes?

In order to realize your dreams, you must be willing to step outside of your area of comfort again and again.

Yes, I know this is scary, but the truth of the matter is, we must grow in all areas of our lives to embrace, to realize our dreams, and those soft, cuddly places in our lives, with which we are so comfortable, donot allow us to grow. They keep us where we are: “content and comfortable.” These two characters do not budge; we have to kick them out!

No doubt, you have heard the saying: In order to reach goals, or realize dreams,we must become “comfortable with being uncomfortable”.

The more risks, therefore, of the right kind, at the right time, the closer we get to achieving our dreams.

This should motivate us to keep stretching and moving away from those limiting areas of comfort.

After a certain age, all of our personal growth is from the inside. This is exactly what is needed if we are to realize our biggest dreams.

So, when are you going to ‘move’, outside of your comfort zone, that is? Don’t keep clinging to it for dear life!

Release your tight grip so that you can go forward to realize your dream and embrace your true destiny!

How to Improve Kindness Through Speech?

It’s easy to forget sometimes that people look at us and really listen to what we say. We have a great power when we speak. It is an enormous power that can hurt or heal people. What we say can be uplifting or heartbreaking, as well as making another person feel really good or really bad. We often don’t realize it but what we say can make or break reputations. Literally most of the words that we speak are often heard by others who take them quite literally.

Here are some ways to improve the world and ourselves by using our power of speech for the good of the world. We should all be more aware of what we say and how we say it, and the first suggestion is one that would be great for everyone to be aware of and work on to improve the world around them.

Think before you speak

We are so eager to talk that we often forget to ask ourselves: who will benefit from what I am going to say? Could somebody’s feelings be hurt, or their self-esteem damaged, if I make this comment or observation? Ask yourself these questions and you may save others pain through needlessly hurtful words.

Use your words and your smile to uplift others

Even confident people carry some feelings of self-doubt or worries about their family, relationships, or work. Look for opportunities to share a kind word or compliment not only with family and friends, but with store clerks, parking attendants, and others whom you meet during the day. Your kind words and your smile just might make someone else’s day.

Don’t badmouth yourself either.

Jewish wisdom teaches that in addition to not slandering others, we must not slander ourselves either. Mild self-deprecation is one thing, but broadcasting your shortcomings or slamming yourself verbally may lead to feelings of self-loathing. Your negativity may also make others avoid you. Use your awareness of your weakness as a stimulus for growth, and tell yourself that you can and will do better, one day at a time.

Change the subject when gossip begins

Whipping out your family photos or looking for the earliest opportunity to change the subject may derail the gossip train. And even if the gossiper finds a more willing ear elsewhere, at least you won’t have been an accomplice. Stuck listening to gossip with no visible means of escape? Don’t criticize the gossiper; just try to suggest a happier topic as soon as possible.

Be careful with praise

Praising the beauty of a friend’s new diamond necklace in front of a third party who could not afford such a thing could easily create feelings of envy and resentment. Congratulating a new mother on her baby can bring tremendous pain if said in front of a childless couple. Look around before you lavish praise or congratulations. Others are listening.

As we remember that words can hurt, we need to remember that we should “treat others like we want to be treated”. In order to do that, we need to think before we speak; and not let our thoughts and words just start running out loud. Most of us have been hurt by gossip. We can avoid hurting others by changing the subject when someone starts to gossip about a person.

By using kind words with people and giving praise, we can lift many people’s spirits. We all know people who are pleasant to be around because they always speak gently, calmly, and kindly. It seems as though they always have something good to say to us and about us, which always makes us feel special. Keeping that in mind with others, we can also make people feel good. We must be careful with praise so people believe we are genuine. It is necessary to remember ourselves with kindness, so we won’t damage our self esteem. It’s not hard to use kinder speech if we think about it. We can make the world a nicer, kinder place.

How to Get Confidence

Somebody asked me this question and I responded with – excellent question, I’d have to say we gain confidence by taking the chance. The outcome may be what we desired or it may be different but the fact that we took chance gives us confidence. This works with some phobias. I have the height phobia. I try to look below from heights without getting afraid. Small heights first. The phobia is very much there but I will conquer it soon. I have the confidence now. Let me list few important points about confidence-

Begin with confidence and you will know you can do just about anything you choose.

Confidence comes from attempting to do things and recognizing our efforts or accomplishments. A person does not become confident riding a bicycle until they have done it, but they need some confidence that they can learn to ride it, or they will not try.

If you get negative results do not see them as a FAILURE rather than an education and merely a temporary set back. The more kudos you can give to yourself for trying your best, the better your chances of success next time. Confidence is built from success and what you learn from failure. Confidence is all about a positive mind-set. A small child does not know how to walk but looking at others walking he gets the confidence that he too can walk. Observe successful people. That gives confidence. Think of what you are confident about and pull up your shoulders.

No one has zero confidence, so we can start by building on what we have. Probably all of us are more confident in some areas than in others.Challenge yourself at every opportunity to go a little beyond hat you know you can do.Start with something small, and take a leap of faith in yourself.

We can talk to ourselves more kindly and encouragingly, and remind ourselves of what we do well, and whatever success we had. The only true failure, is quitting. We usually quit because we’ve become discouraged. If we feel confident we would not quit but try again.Your feelings affect everything you do in life. Your self-confidence levels and self-esteem depend on your feelings. Write all the good work done by you. When I feel low in confidence, I try to recollect my school days. I was the top in my school and my thoughts of past change my state immediately. Do something similar by going in past. Begin recollecting. Practice trying to see the glass half full rather than half empty, with regards to how you view yourself. Loneliness can add to the feeling of non-confidence. A lot of times when we feel lonely we’re also reluctant to do things like call old friends or new acquaintances, or to go out or invite people over. We need to break this cycle. We need to have someone tell us that we are good and explain to us how our thinking has been distorted by negative things said to us, over and over again. All of us are unique! There is no one else like us! Are we morons that we can not achieve what others can? No. We can!

There have been many notable late bloomers in life! Abraham Lincoln, J.K. Rowling and did you know Einstein was considered retarded until after his theory of relativity became known? Yes his teachers believed that because he kept failing his classes.

Eliminate Fear of Flying With Hypnosis

Fear is good. Fear prompts the body into reaction when there is no time to think, your mind and body react appropriately to the given stressor. The problem arises when anxiety attaches to the “fear” and what is anxiety – it is the anticipatory thoughts of “what if” and this fuels the fear. When fear and anxiety come together, they produce a phobia. Now all planes must be feared in actual presence, in your mind, on tv or even the sound of a plane will be enough to set off your anxiety in relation to fear of flying.

Fears with anxiety attached limit your capabilities because for example, the fear of flying stops you going on holidays or if you do go on holidays you are miserable and “suffering or enduring” the holiday just anticipating how dreadful the flight will be and the fear of flying endures being given more and more power by the anxiety. What happens if you have to fly for work? The compulsion to fly actually compounds the fear you have because you have no choice in the matter.

What if there was a way you could overcome your fear of flying, as long as you wanted to change? Hard as it is to image there is always a benefit from our behaviours, if there wasn’t we wouldn’t have any issues. Hypnosis cannot help someone who really doesn’t want to be helped or sits there with the attitude of “change me”. To remove concerns in relation to fear of flying, you have to feel comfortable , believe it and see it in your mind as already having happened and these feelings, this passion about how great your life can be being free from your fear of flying. You have to be excited about the future. You need to feel passionate and alive.

Each time you give into your fear or phobia of flying, you make it stronger and your confidence drops. The brain contains 12% of your blood supply at any given time. When you experience anxiety, there is a surge of blood to area of your brain that is associated to the phobia of flying. This absorbs energy from the brain cells that surround this phobic area. And the more you feel anxious the stronger it gets. With hypnosis we are breaking the connection in relation to the fear of flying. In your brain electrical impulses are firing off making connections all the time. It is necessary to break them and then re-form better positive connections that can change your thoughts and your body’s reactive processes.

We give images to the brain of how you want to be, how this would feel like for you to free of your phobia and as these images become brighter and more alive inside your mind, the energy surrounding the phobia begins to weaken. But that is only part of the resolution of the phobia. Like anything, you had to practice making the phobia a phobia, now you have to practice feeling calm and relaxed and how great your life is now this is no longer an issue for you the best it can be. Your subconscious mind does not know the difference between what is real or what is imagined and we use this to our benefit as you practice your techniques and adjust your mind to feeling comfortable and more relaxed.

Because of the origin of the fear is at a subconscious level then subconscious access is required to overcome it. To re-programme your mind to be comfortable when flying does not necessarily require a trance state, hypnosis eases the connection and aids relaxation which in turn allows the conscious mind to switch off. When the subconscious mind opens up and the purpose is to empower the new neural connections dealing with being calm and relaxed while flying. Being able to access and reduce heart rate can allay fears of a panic attacks.

Once you have experienced your outward journey and feel great, you can relax and enjoy your time away, knowing the return journey will be even better because you have actually experienced it.
